Deprecation notice

Indeed is removing the publicProfileUrl field on June 30, 2026. Until removal, the field returns an empty string. Remove publicProfileUrl from your integration before this date. When retrieving a resume, use the resume object fields.

Job Update API

• Added a rejected jobs section to the Job Update API guide. Request statusCommunication on surfaceStatuses in a findEmployerJobsPartner call to see why a job was rejected, then fix the issue and resubmit.
• Clarified in the seat management guide that each seat must be a real work location, not a way to advertise in markets where the job is not based.
• Fixed the clearSeats description in the same guide: it expires agency-created seats, but only removes updates from ATS-created seats.

Job Sync API

• Clarified on SourcedJobPostingMetadataInput and SourcedJobPostingPhotoInput that job photos are supported only for jobs in Japan. Sending these fields elsewhere has no effect.
• Added a note to the XML feed reference that the hide_from_indeed_search element is not available in Japan.

Indeed Apply

• Clarified in the Indeed Apply configuration reference that indeed-apply-resumefieldsrequired requests resume fields but does not guarantee them. A job seeker with no prior experience can skip a required page, and the application data omits those fields.

Integration basics

• Updated the language codes, country codes, and locales table to 103 locales, adding Hungary, Austria, and Brazil. The table is now linked from Integration basics and the API reference.

Get started

• Updated the Japanese Indeed Documentation (Indeed ドキュメント), Get started (はじめに), Integration basics (連携の基本), Indeed PLUS, and API guides (APIガイド) landing pages with consistent terminology.

Retrieve Candidates API

• Documented the Smart Screening update asset type in the Retrieve Candidates API guide, including the fields it returns and how to stage one in the sandbox. These updates apply to your integration, not to a single employer, and identify the application by Indeed Apply ID.
• Added best practices for candidate assets, including handling both asset types in one response and applying screening updates in createdAt order so older data does not overwrite newer data.

Job Update API

• Documented the jobRequisitionId filter for findEmployerJobsPartner in the Job Update API guide and agency scenarios. Pass the value exactly as externalPostingMetadata.jobRequisitionId returns it. Matching is case-insensitive and does not trim whitespace. Requisition IDs are not unique, so the filter can return more than one job.
• Corrected the documented default for jobFeedType. When the filter is omitted, the query returns only INTEGRATED_FROM_PARTNER. Set jobFeedType to retrieve crawled or hosted jobs.

ATS JavaScript Plugin

• Updated the Japanese ATS JavaScript Plugin with Japanese screenshots, including the self-identification screen, Sponsor button states, and button placement examples.

Publisher JavaScript Plugin

• Updated the Japanese Publisher JavaScript Plugin with Japanese screenshots for the job search UI layout and customization examples.

Job Sync API

• Clarified that jobs with multiple locations or languages must be split into separate postings, and added this guidance to the Job Sync API guide and Integrate the Job Sync API. Split postings can share the same url and jobRequisitionId, but each needs a unique jobPostingId so Indeed does not treat them as duplicates.

Indeed Apply

• Updated the Japanese JSON for screener questions and the Application data reference to match English, including validation rules, validationRuleKey, the multifield question type, and expanded date guidance.

ATS JavaScript Plugin

• Aligned the Japanese ATS JavaScript Plugin and Troubleshoot GraphQL errors with English, and fixed a broken authentication link.

Indeed Apply

• Added the multifield screener question type. It lets job seekers submit multiple structured entries (for example, multiple work experiences) in one question, with configurable entry limits and supported sub-field types.
• Documented validationRuleKey, which validates strings in supported screener questions (including names, addresses, phone numbers, emails, and URLs), with rule identifiers and examples.
• Expanded date screener-question guidance with locale-specific date formats, supported tokens, and common misconfigurations to avoid.
• Clarified that sponsored: false in application data analytics means the job is organic or the click came from outside Indeed.

Job Sync API

• The Job Sync API is now available to direct employers.
• Clarified that job descriptions default to plain text. Rich formatting requires HTML through descriptionFormatting. See job description formatting.
• Updated authentication guidance for getting job posting status by ID by clarifying token type by integration model, requiring an authorization-code endpoint, recommending offline_access for 3-legged OAuth, explaining user-linked FORBIDDEN cases, and documenting when tokens cannot be refreshed.

Job Update API

• Published the Job Update API seat management guide in English and Japanese. It explains how to add, update, and expire job seats with the addSeats, updateSeats, and clearSeats mutations, including authentication, request and response examples, rate limits, and troubleshooting.
• Added an FAQ on how to confirm whether a job uses Indeed Apply. Use the findEmployerJobsPartner query and check whether EmployerJob.seatConnections.jobPost.isIndeedApplyActive returns true.
