Deprecation notice

Indeed is removing the publicProfileUrl field on June 30, 2026. Until removal, the field returns an empty string. Remove publicProfileUrl from your integration before this date. When retrieving a resume, use the resume object fields.

Job Sync API

• Moved the XML feed reference to a new top-level Job Sync XML feed section, alongside the Job Sync API as a job indexing method. Existing Indeed Apply XML feed links redirect to the new location.
• Added salary guidance to the XML feed reference: Indeed might not display salary or other pay data unless it uses the correct numerical format.

Candidate Sync APIs

• Clarified in the Send Candidates API best practices that each update replaces the previous version, so you must send the full application every time.
• Consolidated the Candidate Sync API guides under top-level routes and restructured the Employer Registration API integration guide into a four-step workflow.

Disposition Sync API

• Added a note to the Disposition Sync API for Japan partners that using a non-production indeedApplyId in test dispositions can cause an error, and localized the applicant status reference table in Japanese.

Authentication

• Updated the Partner Console and OAuth credential guidance to separate steps for partners in Japan and outside Japan, clarifying how to get client_id and client_secret in each market.

Integration basics

• Added a standard error codes reference to GraphQL clients best practices, including common errors such as BAD_USER_INPUT, FORBIDDEN, and UNAUTHENTICATED.

Job Sync API

• Added Japan-specific guidance to the Job Sync API job types reference on selecting the job type SUID and listing applicable benefits.
• Fixed the SourcedJobPostingBodyInput description link to Job description formatting. Clarified the 65,000-byte maximum and HTML requirement.

Indeed Apply

• Restructured the Indeed Apply authentication instructions into "Japan only" and "Outside of Japan" sections.
• Removed Japan-specific restrictions on the completeApplicationSourceAttribution and sponsored fields from the Application data reference.
• Fixed the location field name to lowercase postalcode in the Application data reference to match the actual payload.
• Fixed the <description> element example on the XML feed reference to use literal HTML tags.

Release notes: May 22, 2026

New

This release covers a site-wide refresh of the documentation site. A new home page, simplified sidebars, and a reorganized information architecture make Indeed APIs and integration content easier to find. Highlights include a new Help Center, a consolidated Integration basics section, and the rename of Authorization to Authentication. All former URLs redirect to their new locations, so existing bookmarks and integrations continue to work.

Information architecture

• Renamed the Authorization section to Authentication. All former /authorization/* URLs now redirect to /authentication/*. Existing bookmarks and integrations continue to work without changes.
• Moved the Employer Data API reference under Indeed PLUS to group it with related Indeed PLUS content. The former /employers/reference/* paths redirect to the new location.
• Moved the Data Viewer and Publisher JavaScript Plugin guides under Indeed PLUS. The former /getstarted/data-viewer and /publisher-js-plugin paths redirect to the new locations.

Homepage and navigation

• Refreshed the documentation home page with a Start here panel, Use cases panel, and direct links to Get started, Integration basics, Authentication, API guides, Indeed PLUS, and Release notes.
• Simplified the sidebar across all sections so each API and product surfaces a single landing page with subtopics nested underneath. Sidebar entries now match the page titles for easier scanning.
• Clarified the Partner Console card on the home page to describe what readers can do in Partner Console before they navigate away.

Help Center

• Published a Help Center hub with Troubleshooting, Error reference, and FAQ pages.
• Added per-API troubleshooting guides: Indeed Apply, Job Sync API, Job Update API, and Send Candidates API. Each guide lists error codes, messages, HTTP status codes, and resolution steps.
• Added an Authentication FAQ covering common OAuth token, scope, and grant-type questions.

Integration basics

• Combined the former GraphQL at Indeed and Integrate and call APIs topics into a single Integration basics section. The consolidated section covers GraphQL fundamentals, best practices, webhooks, IRIs, and SUIDs.
• Renamed the SUIDs heading to Understanding SUIDs across the Integration basics navigation and topic pages for consistency.
• Tightened guide descriptions across Integration basics and the Get started pages so each card matches the linked guide's excerpt.

API guides

• Published an API guides catalog page listing every Indeed API and integration service with consistent descriptions, request types, and links to each guide.
• Noted that the Real-time API and Hiring Lab API use REST, not GraphQL, on the API guides catalog.
• Aligned Hiring Lab API navigation text and page title so they match.

Candidate Sync APIs

• Flattened the Candidate Sync APIs structure. Retrieve Candidates API and Send Candidates API integration guides now sit at the top level of their respective sections, with subtopics nested beneath each guide.

SUIDs

• Surfaced the SUID changelog under Release notes alongside the GraphQL schema change log so readers can find SUID updates in one place.
• Standardized dash style across all SUID reference tables.

Indeed Apply

• Standardized the Indeed Apply index page formatting to match the other product index pages.

Authorization

• Clarified the 3-legged OAuth employer parameter requirement across the OAuth reference, Client credentials grant type (2-legged OAuth), Authorization code grant type (3-legged OAuth), OAuth glossary, Token exchange grant type (OAuth), and Get started topics. Tokens that represent an advertiser must include employer for Employer Registration and Job Sync node queries.

Candidate Sync APIs

• Published integration guides for the Retrieve Candidates API and the Send Candidates API. Each guide covers workflow steps, prerequisites, validation, and a release-readiness checklist.
• Reworked the Candidate Sync APIs landing page with explicit prerequisites and an order of operations for each API.

Job Update API

• Documented the new body.descriptionFormatting field for description formatting in the Job Update API guide. Choose TEXT (30–20,000 characters) or HTML (30 characters minimum, 65,000 UTF-8 bytes maximum).

Indeed Apply

• Documented the new optional analytics.smartFitScore field in the Indeed Apply Application data reference. The field is a numeric score indicating how well the applicant matches the job. If the field is absent, no score is available for the application.
• Updated the token-acquisition flow on Direct employer integration with Indeed Apply. To get an Indeed Apply token, contact Indeed Client Success to register your interest, sign the Developer Agreement, and view your client ID and client secret in Partner Console.

Publisher JavaScript Plugin

• Refreshed the images and copy on the Publisher JavaScript Plugin guide and the Job Postings category landing page.

Candidate Sync APIs

• Updated the Retrieve Candidates API guide: added assetsByTimeRange query documentation for listing acknowledged assets by time range, clarified Smart Sourcing scope, and expanded fetchAssets examples with metadata, contact, resume, and tracking fields.
• Restructured the Send Candidates API guide for consistency with other Candidate Sync API guides.

Job Update API

• Updated the Job Update API guide: added node and nodes query documentation for verifying single or bulk job updates after submission.

Indeed Apply

• Updated JSON for screener questions: added screener question pre-fill documentation for Japan, covering automatic population, supported question categories, and pre-fill rules.

Publisher JavaScript Plugin

• Updated the Publisher JavaScript Plugin guide: fixed image aspect ratios so comparison images render correctly.

Deprecation notice

Indeed is discontinuing the GraphQL simulated environment on June 30, 2026. Transition away from this environment before this date.

SUIDs

• Added SUID changelog for tracking changes to SUID reference tables.
• Removed the deprecated STFUR value and updated the search attributes SUID reference table.

Indeed Apply

• Updated the Job Sync XML feed reference layout and removed unsupported parameters from screener JSON examples in JSON for screener questions.
• Restructured the JSON for screener questions into modular topics with clearer parameter tables and navigation.
• Fixed heading structure for nested resume fields in the Application data reference and updated Japanese screener content to match the English structure.

Authorization

• Corrected the parameters in the two-legged OAuth curl example for employer access tokens in Client credentials grant type (2-legged OAuth).

Hiring Lab API

• Improved dataset tables, collapsible FAQs, and examples on the Hiring Lab API index for easier scanning.
