Install your Indeed integration with Workday.

Before you start
This installation requires technical configuration. Consult your IT department before you continue.
Two roles complete this installation:
- Workday administrator - Configures Workday permissions and provides API credentials.
- Indeed Employer Home administrator - Completes the integration setup in Indeed.
Decide these technical details before you start:
- Test environment strategy, such as test tenant only, production only, or both
- Company name configuration, such as a standard organization field or a custom field
- EEO data collection preferences, if applicable
Consult your IT department to choose your testing and configuration approach.
If you want to deliver job requisitions in multiple languages, follow the instructions below to ensure that Indeed receives your jobs correctly.
To deliver jobs to Indeed in more than one language, post each language version as a separate requisition in Workday. Attach a separate and correct language questionnaire if applicable. Recruiting APIs cannot specify or detect the language of a job requisition, so this is the only way to ensure that your jobs appear in every intended language. For example, if JR100297 is configured in English and French, create a second requisition, such as JR100298, for the non-primary language version.
Installation overview
Complete these five steps to install the integration. Three steps are required, and two are optional.
What to expect:
- Step 1 - Your Workday administrator configures permissions and optional features in Workday (~45 minutes).
- Steps 2 and 3 (Optional) - Your Workday administrator configures EEO questions and custom organizations (~50 minutes).
- Step 4 - Your Workday administrator gathers API credentials and shares them securely with your Indeed administrator (~5 minutes).
- Information handoff - Workday administrator shares required values with Indeed administrator.
- Step 5 - Your Indeed administrator completes the installation in Indeed Employer Home using the shared information (~5 minutes).
Total time: About 1 to 2 hours, depending on whether you configure optional features and test in both environments.
1. Configure permissions
Who: Workday administrator
Time: ~45 minutes (one-time setup)
If you use branching questions in a questionnaire, do not change the answer order after you associate the questionnaire with a job requisition. If you change the order, applications are not delivered because of a PUT CANDIDATE API limitation. Create a new questionnaire if you need to change the answer order for a branching question.
2. Configure EEO questionnaire (Optional)
Who: Workday administrator
Time: ~30 minutes (one-time setup)
Complete this step if:
- Your company collects EEO demographic data from job applicants.
- You want to display EEO questions to job seekers who apply through Indeed.
Skip this step if:
- Your company does not collect EEO data.
- You collect EEO data through a different process outside of Indeed.
3. Configure custom organization (Optional)
Who: Workday administrator
Time: ~20 minutes (one-time setup)
Complete this step if:
- You want to display a specific company name to job seekers on Indeed.
- The name you want to display is not available in Job requisition > Organizations > Company or other standard Workday organization types.
- You need to use a brand name or division name that differs from your legal company name.
Skip this step if:
- You already use Job requisition > Organizations > Company and it displays the correct name.
- You use another standard Workday organization type that works for your needs.

4. Provide API information to Indeed Employer Home administrator
Who: Workday administrator
Time: ~5 minutes (one-time setup)
Gather these values from Workday and share them securely with your Indeed administrator:
- Base API URL
- Tenant
- Client ID
- Integration System User Name
- Company field
- Preferred Indeed Recruiting Source
- Test or production install details
After you complete this step, share the information above with your Indeed Employer Home administrator. They use it to complete step 5.
5. Install the integration with Indeed
Who: Indeed Employer Home administrator
Time: ~5 minutes (one or two installations depending on your testing strategy)
Before you start, confirm that you received the required information from your Workday administrator. See step 4.
Get this information from your Workday administrator:
- Base API URL
- Tenant
- Client ID
- Client Secret
- Refresh Token
- Company field, which is the organization type
- Installation type, such as test, production, or both
- Preferred Indeed Recruiting Source
Complete the installation from your Indeed Employer Home account.
