Configure the iCIMS platform
Add the Indeed integration to your Apply Network
Using the iCIMS Apply Network integration with Indeed requires the creation of Apply Workflows and the configuration of jobs. See Configuring New and Existing Integrations with Apply Network on the iCIMS support website to get your integration set up, making sure to choose Indeed in the vendor selection.
Create Apply workflows
The iCIMS Apply Network allows you to create lists of profile fields, screener questions, and EEO to be presented to job seekers upon application. These groups of application questions are called Apply Workflows. See Understanding Apply Workflow on the iCIMS support website for more information about configuring Apply Workflows.
Configure jobs
Once your Apply Workflows have been created, they need to be associated to jobs in iCIMS. This will let Indeed know which questions to ask on each job received from the iCIMS Apply Network. Jobs also need to be opted into the Apply Network in order for them to be included in the feed to Indeed. See Updating jobs on the iCIMS support website for more information about how to associate Apply Workflows with iCIMS jobs and how to opt those jobs into the Apply Network.
Finish the installation on Indeed
Connect a new integration with your Indeed account
After the integration is added in your iCIMS platform, you will see the entry in your Apply Network setup page under System Configuration. The status of the integration will be displayed as a button that says Validate.
-
Click the Validate button to connect the integration to your Indeed account.
-
Use the login screens to complete the authentication process, choosing the proper account if your login is associated with more than one integration, and agree to the Terms and Conditions.
- Note: Only administrators are able to validate an iCIMS integration. If you are not an Indeed administrator, a link is provided to share with your Indeed administrator to complete installation.
-
Completing the authentication screens will take you to the Integrations Home screen to finish the iCIMS ATS Sync installation.
Confirm application data collection guideline
After completing "Configure iCIMS" and optionally "Enhance your job feed" in the checklist, you'll see this step.
This step confirms that your iCIMS Apply Workflows questions appear to job seekers on Indeed.
Before you continue, review your Apply Workflows to ensure your questions:
- Comply with Indeed's terms and moderation policies
- Do not request sensitive information that violates local employment laws
- Are relevant to the job
Indeed can flag or remove jobs with non-compliant questions. Learn more about flagged jobs.
Select the checkbox and select Continue.
Review configurations and supported jobs
After completing the validation step, you will be able to review the jobs added to the Apply Network before publishing them to Indeed. Download the file to review the job information, count, and click into the applyURL to see the application process that will be presented to candidates.
-
Review step 3 of the installation checklist and download the job file.
- Note: It may take up to 30 minutes for jobs added to the Apply Network to be reflected in the file. If the file looks incomplete, try again later.
-
If any changes are required, log in to your iCIMS platform and configure jobs and Apply Workflows as necessary.
Publish jobs to Indeed
After you complete, or skip, the install steps for Indeed Apply Sync and Candidate Sync install steps, you must take action to start publishing the jobs to Indeed.
- Sponsorship campaigns: If this feed is replacing another, confirm your campaigns are properly migrated to support your new integration. The feedID and reference numbers for the jobs on your new integration will change, so it is important to work with Indeed Client Success to make sure there is minimal interruption.

Source attribution
As candidates and applications are created, source values for these profiles will be included. Source mapping is as follows:
Candidate sources:
- Source = “Indeed”
Application sources:
- Source = "Indeed"
- Source Channel (may change at Indeed's discretion):
- Indeed Sponsored Jobs
- Indeed Organic Jobs
- Indeed Autosourcer
- Indeed Smart Sourcer
- Indeed Hiring Events
- Indeed Apply
- Source Name = “Indeed”
- Source ExternalID: We no longer deliver any value for Source ExternalID.
- Source Origin = "Apply Network"
Disposition statuses
If you have opted in to Disposition Sync, disposition statuses will be sent back to Indeed. These values represent the stage of the application process your candidate has reached. The disposition data will be reflected on your managed candidates on Indeed. These stages are:
- Initial Review
- Interview
- Screen
- Offer
- Hired
- Rejected
Only normalized disposition values are captured, no custom statuses. Collection of this data is used to improve Indeed’s candidate matching capabilities.
